It’s the little things

“Hey, any time. You’ve always been one of my all-time favorite artists on this site and there isn’t a thing you’ve done that I haven’t just adored. As far as appreciating your own work, maybe you just need a change of pace? I know that’s what I always have to do when I’m starting to question whether or not I’m growing as an artist – take on a challenge that isn’t something I would normally entertain for the sake of finding myself as an artist again. (…) But really, never doubt yourself as an artist, Liz. You’re amazing, and the dedication you have to your craft just makes you even more so.”

To anyone who has ever doubted that the internet can yield anything positive in its endless potential for anonymous-stranger-danger… put this in your pipe and smoke it. This person is someone whom I’ve seen around on my Deviantart account for years now. We haven’t interacted directly very much; I don’t even know her name. I know that she follows my art, I know that she comments from time to time. And I also know that she pretty much just fucking saved my artistic life, just now, probably without knowing it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to have myself a happy cry and re-evaluate my life choices. ^_-

Hell, I was covetous of your pikachu watercolor skills. Such control! Glad you’re feeling better about your art πŸ™‚

My wife is an excellent graphic artist, designer and digital art tutor. She decided several years back to undertake a Masters degree in Fine Art. They put a paint brush in her hand and said “no more digital shit!” Pushed her right out of her comfort zone and totally off the edge of her planet. It totally changed her life and her art. She found herself.

  3. OMG you sweet thing you!! πŸ™‚ I just say what I mean and I’m very, very happy that I talked you back from an artistic ledge. We’re such dramatic people, lol. But if you’re an artists…you get it. We have to be dramatic because our creative minds are just that freakin’ awesome πŸ™‚
Name’s Andrea by the way and I hope ice cream accompanied your happy cry …or at least a good glass of wine. XD
